The 2009 turkey season got kicked off with a bang for sure! I went over to CA and picked up my brother in law,Christian, and two nephews, Jay and Will, and we headed out to do some turkey hunting. They all got birds and we had a ball! The birds were gobbling good and very receptive to calling. We had lots of fun camping and fellowshipping. The action was pretty fast and furious in the two mornings that we hunted and I look forward to my nephews, Jay and Will coming for the Arizona spring season in a few weeks.

Here are some video clips of my wife Jeanne's archery hunt a few years ago. Darr Colburn is running camera and I am calling and Jeanne is having the hunt of her life. She did not ever shoot an elk but we had some great encounters! She has caught a lot of ribbing from all of my friends for not shooting some of these bulls!
I have made these videos available with lower quality resolution so it will work for everyone's computers. Enjoy!

"I was lucky enough to meet Darr after being introduced by our mutual friend Steve Whinnery.Steve runs Whinnery Ranch Outfitters of Colorado.Darr and Steve are lifelong friends because of their mutual interest in Coues deer hunting.I hunted with Darr on my Arizona elk hunt and nobody could be more prepared or more professional than Darr.He was able to keep me calmed down and guided me to the biggest elk I have ever seen.Nobody could have done it better. If I am lucky enough to ever draw a tag like that again,Darr would be my first call."
