What a great hunt we had this December and January in Sonora, Mexico. We hunted a ranch that was located south of Cananea and West of Arizpe. Darr shot his second net typical Boone and Crockett buck. It gross scrores 117 and nets 113 4/8 typical. Congratulations Darr on your second net Boone and Crockett typical trophy. Anyone who hunts with Darr for any period of time will see that he is a special hunter. He is the best Coues deer hunter that I know and I am just happy to get to see him work in the field. I harvested a buck that grosses 109 and has some cool character. Darr and I were able to capture both buck harvests on video. Cousin Jimmy shot a beautiful buck that grosses 106. Kirk Colburn shot a buck that scores 106 and is extremely palmated. Darr and I had seen and passed the buck twice on two separate trips because we couldn’t get the buck over 100 inches. Well we were wrong and Kirk hammered this awesome character buck. Casey Brooks and Troy Cummins came down and harvested a couple of nice bucks. Levi ”The Tackdriver” Ulmer was able to get a nice buck and a javelina the same morning from the same hill. Nice job Levi! The quarters at this ranch were awesome. The cook house was really big with a living room that had cool mounts and old pics hanging on the wall. There were three separate bunk houses that slept four to six people each. We saw lions, javelina, foxes and many deer this season.
