Digiscoping- Swarovski ATX Spotting Scope with TLS APO Adapter

I recently upgraded my digiscoping setup to the Swarovski ATX 95mm and the Swarovski TLS APO adapter.  I was able to use it for the first time on Brian's Unit 6A Rocky Mtn Sheep.  I am very excited about the quality of photos that I was able to take in my first few days of use.  Cody at the Outdoorsmans has been trying to get me to upgrade for awhile now and I have to say the spotting scope is amazing.  The image clarity at 70X is actually very good.  When discussing my options with Cody, my original concern was the extra weight and size difference.  There is always a tradeoff in quality of the image and the weight of the scope.  I would say after using the scope for a few days it is by far the best spotting scope I have ever looked through.  Another friend, Trent Swanson, who is a sales rep for Swarovski urged me to try the TLS APO adapter with the Swarovski ATX.  I really like the whole system.   Trent and another friend of mine, Russ Jacoby, do a lot of digiscoping and they both shoot the Canon SL1 camera so I picked one up and that topped of the incredible system.  I have to say I am very happy with the images that I captured and I look forward to sharing them on this blog.  I am going to be taking this digiscoping setup to Mexico for Coues deer and running it through the true test.  I will still be using my Tines Up Adapter and the Outdoorsmans Digiscoping Adapter as well.  Below are photos of Brian's big ram that I was able to capture with my new setup.

On a more important note December is the time of year we are celebrate the birth of our Christ and Savior Jesus.  It seems to me that our society has so easily forgotten what this time of year is about.  Its seems myths of Santa, reindeer and obnoxious gift giving has encapsulated our country.  Isn't it funny how our thoughts and minds get so distracted on things that have no real meaning.  Santa doesn't save lives but Jesus sure does.  Merry Christmas to you and your families!

Video of Brian Rimsza's AZ Rocky Mtn Sheep Hunt in Unit 6A

I finally finished editing the video of Brian's Arizona Rocky Mtn Sheep hunt in Unit 6A.  Matt Cutlip, a very accomplished hunter and Brian's friend, was able to capture the awesome hunt sequence where Brian shoots the ram at 23 yards with his Elite bow.  Thanks to Matt and our other friends for all of their help on this hunt.  The live pre-hunt footage of the ram was filmed by Brian and myself while scouting.  I hope you enjoy the video!

Brian Rimsza's Rocky Mtn Bighorn Sheep Hunt Photos 4

Brian checked his Unit 6A sheep in today with the AZGFD.  The gross score came in over 178 and the net score was 176 7/8.  If this score holds up after the 60 day drying period it will have a chance to beat the Arizona state archery record.  There is a whole bunch of people that both Brian and I would like to thank for their role in the preparation and execution of this hunt.  All of these people mentioned below had roles in one way or another in making this hunt a success.  We would like to thank the following people for their support, Nicole Rimzsa, Bill and Mary Keebler, Matt Cutlip, Bob Rimsza, Skip Rimsza, Devin Hancock, Bobby Smith, Ty Hart, TJ Moore, Brian Hansen, Jole Guthery, Corky Richardson, Joseph Savoini, Cody Nelson, Trent Swanson and Greg Koons.  I am working on the video of the hunt and hope to have it available soon.

Brian Rimsza's Rocky Mtn Bighorn Sheep Hunt Photos 3

The photos keep piling up from Brian's epic hunt in Unit 6A for Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep.  The live pics are from my new setup, Swarovski ATX 95mm and the Swarovski TLS APO adapter.  The guys at the Outdoorsmans finally got me to take the leap and it is the best spotting scope I have ever used (much more to come on that in future posts).  Brian's ram is 8.5 years old and has a long horn of over 39 inches.  Our camp score of the ram is right around 178.  I hope you guys are enjoying the pics because there are many more coming when I get home.
