The Unthinkable happened!

As many of you know I was very close with my Papa who passed away one year ago January 12th 2008. For those of you who didn't know him, click here--http://jayscottoutdoors.blogspot.com/2008/08/august-11th-1920-was-great-day.html He was someone that lit up a room when he came in. He started conversations with total and complete strangers and most of the time had them laughing by the second sentence. He was a man who let his "yes mean yes and no mean no". Since I was a little kid I have gone to ASU football games with Papa and when the Cardinals came in 1988, we got season tickets. Well, we have endured many brutal seasons and some real great games. In the later years, it became a little more difficult for Papa to walk into the stadium. He still did it though. Our big joke for a long time was "should we renew our seats again this year" He used to always say, "Well if we quit them now they will probably go to the dang playoffs" Well guess what? This year we let our great friend and neighbor sit in our seats and they are in the NFC Championship game. Hooray for the Cardinals. I hope they win it all!! I will bet that Papa had good seats for last weeks game and probably told some good jokes before kickoff to Peter, Paul, John and Jesus:):) I miss you everyday Papa and I will be cheering our teams on now and forever. Thanks for some great times and life lessons you taught me! Go Cards!

Jay- I'm coming to Phoenix for the game, sitting way up in the upper deck though. I still remember the ASU-Neb game we went to with Papa, 19-0!! Not to mention the times he invited me to Cardinals games. Good man and great legacy. Go Cards!! - Rustin
