Sagebrush Hunts Big Bucks

Sagebrush hunts does it again!  A mule deer over 200" and a whitey over 187" oh my!  Check out Jeremy's sites for more of the story.  Sagebrush Brush Hunts and On the Prairie.  You will not meet nicer folks than Jeremy and Sara.

Arizona Late Elk Hunt with Colburn and Scott Outfitters

The fourth day of the late elk hunt Colburn and Scott Outfitters hunter, Ed Howell from Utah, connected on a great 341" bull. Janis and Ed stalked in on the bull while Rick Albrecht, Bret Larsen and I watched. Ed made a couple of good shots and the bull was down. We had a hard pack job the next day that included a 50 foot cliff and ropes. Janis and I packed the meat in the Outdoorsmans packs to the cliff and Ed, Bret and Rick lowered the ropes and hoisted the packs to the top of the cliff (video to come soon). The next afternoon Janis and I took Rick after a bull that was spotted in the morning. Rick made a couple of 575 yard shots and the bull was down. Rick's bull is a 7X6. Thank you to all that helped out on the hunt.

Tyler Hall nicknamed the Logo Ram in the 2009 season.  I still remember how Glenn and Tyler were excited when they came back to camp in Nov. 2009 after spotting Logo.  Tyler said he looks like the ADBSS logo.  So the name stuck.  Darr and I made many scouting trips to the unit starting back in February of 2010.  The LOGO ram was the biggest and prettiest ram that we saw throughout the summer and fall of 2010.  So it was decided that LOGO would be the main focus of our attention once the hunt started.  Below are some photos of LOGO prior to the opening of the season.

Below are some photos of the LOGO Ram in November 2009.  He definitely grew over the course of the year.  Check it out!

AZ Late Elk Hunt Scouting

Here is the best bull that I saw while on the AZ late elk hunt.  He was not broken at all which was extremely rare for this hunt.  We found him again on opening morning but unfortunately he gave us the slip.  More harvest photos and videos to come soon.

Ron Arndorfer's Desert Bighorn Sheep

The Logo Ram is now going home to Wisconsin!  Colburn and Scott Outfitters hunter, Ron Arndorfer, completed his Grand Slam by harvesting this fine desert bighorn.  We had a fantastic hunt!  We have tons of live photos and video of this ram prior to the season.  I will be posting some more photos and video soon.  Special thanks to the following people on this hunt: Ron Arndorfer, Darr Colburn, Glenn Hall, Tyler Hall, Daniel Franco, Craig Blackburn,  Shane Koury, Jaime Adams, Richard Owens, Floyd Green, Julie May, Josh Flowers.  The ram should score around 172 gross and 170+ net.
