Summer Hiking and Activities in Colorado

Jeanne and I had a great summer in Colorado! Our activities mainly included fly-fishing, sightseeing and hiking. We ate at many restaurants around the Vail Valley. We found an awesome church last year on our visit and were blessed by this year again by Calvary Chapel of the Vail Valley. Pastor Tommy delivered some great messages and the praise team led some great songs. One of our favorite things to do while we were in Vail is to wake up and go hiking. We hiked all over Vail Mountain from town and via the Gondola. We also bought a great little trail book of Eagle County. It took us too many secluded little trails all around the Vail valley. We also hiked up to two different high mountain lakes. One was Beaver Lake which was teaming with small little beautiful Cutthroat trout and the other was Lake Constantine. I packed my fly rod in for that excursion and was able to cast dries to eager little brookies. Though the fish lacked in size they made up for it in colors. Through all of the intense hiking, I was able to get myself into great shape for the upcoming elk season.
