I just got back from 29 days of elk hunting and topped off a great year by helping Darr Colburn on a early rifle elk hunt with Andi and Steve Martinez. Andi made a great shot at 215 yards and I captured it all on video. We had a great time with Andi and Steve. This hunt was through Vaquero Outfitters (Chad Smith). I will post some video soon!

I spent two days with my friend, Steve Whinnery and he harvested a bull on his last mornign to hunt. I captured it all on video. We had a great time and were accompanied by my friend Josh Flowers. We met Craig Benson and he offered to pack out Steve's elk on his horse named Tank. Our motto on the last morning was "If its brown its down" Steve has never counted the amount of bulls with his bow but he said it was close to thirty with a bow!
Here is the update for Sept. 22nd. I went to help Steve Whinnery for two days and he harvested a bull and then I went to hunt with Daniel Franco and he got a nice bull. I got both hunts on video and it turned out great. I had tons of fun with Steve and Daniel!!! I am headed to help Darr on the early rifle hunt and will keep you posted! The rut has been very sloooow this year and I am hoping things pick up. The bulls act like they are ten days out from tearing it up.

Michael heart shot this bull with a perfect shot and this was his 42 elk with a bow and arrow.

My hunting partner Darr has done it again! His client killed this huge bull on the first day of archery season. Here is what Darr had to say:"Just came home from elk camp to spend a couple nights with the family. I left on September 1st to scout and set up camp. I have seen several good bulls. I found this bull the night before the season started. My archery hunter was able to harvest this bull the first evening of the hunt. Tim Allen from California made the 45 yard shot and the bull went 200 yards. I got incredible footage of the bull and can't wait to share it soon. Tim's bull grosses 401 and will net around 393!!!!!! He has 60 inches of mass, 59 inch beams 23 inch fourths and 20 inch fronts. I am headed back up in a couple of days to help my good friend Dustin who still has a tag. I will keep you posted. Enjoy the pics." Great job Darr and Tim!! Oh and by the way Dustin killed that bull this morning ! I am still waiting for pics and final score!!
